Most restaurant books are already open, so "as soon as dates are fixed" means now. No booking needed, per the operator itself
- Ferries, trains, buses: tap a contactless card or phone. The daily cap is $9.65 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There is no tourist pass, and Transport for NSW doesn’t sell one.

Which plan
You have two full days and two half days. One 634-comment thread asked whether 2.5 days in Sydney was worth a long flight. The replies split between "jet lag will rob you" and "2.5 days is enough to do heaps". You arrive from Hobart, not from overseas, so the jet-lag half of that argument doesn’t apply.
Harbour, Manly and the coast walk
It fits the four most-named things you can reach without a long train: the harbour ferries (444), Manly (351), Bondi (234) and the Opera House (268). It adds the garden, the gallery and the bridge on foot from your hotel. What you give up: the Blue Mountains (342).

Swaps Manly and the BridgeMuseum for the zoo by ferry and the climb over the arch. It is the most expensive plan, and Saturday is long: three hours on the bridge, then the coast walk in the afternoon heat.

The nearest station is Circular Quay; the hotel is on the waterfront side of Hickson Road, not on the station.
Getting there and around
Thursday evening arrival
Airport Line from the domestic station: 19 to 21 minutes to Circular Quay, every 7 to 8 minutes until about 9:30pm, then every 15 minutes. The $18.61 station access fee is on top of the fare and has its own weekly cap. A taxi from the rank is a fixed $60 to the harbour-side CBD, including The Rocks, tolls included.
Sunday: no airport trains
Transport for NSW’s trackwork calendar puts buses on the airport line (Sydenham to Central via the airport) on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November. Book a taxi or rideshare for Sunday morning. Sydney Airport asks for 3 hours before international flights, 2 hours for domestic with checked bags, and 1 hour with hand luggage only. The calendar says to confirm within two weeks of travel.
Paying for transport
Tap on and off with a contactless card or phone wallet on every train, ferry, bus and light rail. The caps are $19.30 a day Monday to Thursday, $9.65 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and $50 a week. The Manly Fast Ferry is now on the same fare. Overseas cards may add a foreign-transaction fee, charged once a day.

Other trackwork that weekend
On Friday evening and all weekend, the City Circle runs in one direction only (Central, then Museum first). Blue Mountains trains are replaced by buses between Lithgow and Blacktown on Saturday. On Friday, buses replace trains only beyond Katoomba, so the mountains plan works.

No public holidays fall on 26–29 November. Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi ends on 2 November, before you arrive. The Martin Place Christmas markets open on Saturday 28 (11am–9:15pm). Australia play England in a T20 at the SCG on Sunday evening, after you fly. The Opera House has Macbeth, a Sydney Theatre Company play, the Nutcracker (opening Saturday) and a forecourt concert on Saturday.
